What an interesting journey life can be. I was a farm boy living outside New London, Iowa until we moved into town. I always liked art, but thought, "how do you make a living as an artist?" My high school art teacher told me, "don't pursue a career in art, you're not that good". So, after high school I attended college studying everything from Shakespeare to macroeconomics. I then dropped out of college and got a job as a truck driver. My employer thought I had some artistic skill and encouraged me to attend The Hawkeye Institute of Technology in Waterloo, IA. and study Commercial Art. After graduation I was hired by an Ad Agency/Art Studio in Waterloo. I was employed as an airbrush illustrator for over 20 years and was commissioned to complete artwork for many magazines and corporations. After surviving a major illness in 1996, my career as an airbrush illustrator ended. I now work from home in Cedar Falls, Iowa. My offerings include digital illustration, painting and photography.
